Exploration Geologist - Sweden
As an Exploration Geologist at KoBold Metals in Sweden, you will lead evaluations of potential properties for acquisition, generate exploration targets, and design and oversee field programs from target definition through to resource expansion. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including data scientists, to leverage KoBold's proprietary technology in guiding field programs and decision-making processes. Additionally, you will work directly with senior technical advisors and the executive team to build investment cases for acquisitions and field programs.
Your key responsibilities will include analyzing geoscientific datasets across various scales to determine exploration potential and prioritize targets. You will design, budget, permit, and execute field programs ranging from geological mapping and sampling of grassroots prospects to large drilling programs on advanced projects, ensuring adherence to leading industry practices in data acquisition and validation. Providing technical guidance and support to local in-country project teams during the design and execution of exploration programs, including site visits and engagement with stakeholders, will also be a critical part of your role.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of one or more ore deposit types, with experience in sediment-hosted stratiform copper or magmatic sulfide deposits considered advantageous. You should have a minimum of 3-7 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry, demonstrating excellence in generative analysis, field skills across various project stages, and proficiency in desktop software packages such as ArcGIS or QGIS. Strong leadership abilities, a commitment to high standards of health and safety, and fluency in both Swedish and English are essential. Residency within Sweden and a valid passport with a willingness to travel are also required.
