Facilities Manager
As the Facilities Manager at xAI, you will lead a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our state-of-the-art infrastructure. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring seamless operations and creating an inspiring environment that reflects our commitment to excellence. By driving efficiency, managing critical projects, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, you will help propel our mission of connecting people across the globe and supporting the future of life beyond Earth.
Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing all facilities operations, such as janitorial services, landscaping, HVAC systems, septic and water infrastructure, and general maintenance, to ensure uninterrupted services for employees and customers. You will manage third-party service providers to ensure compliance with corporate standards and contract terms. Additionally, you will develop and execute site improvement projects aligned with business objectives, manage the maintenance and installation of facilities-related infrastructure, and lead the facilities team to drive performance and effectiveness through coaching and development.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate, with at least 4 years of professional experience in construction or facilities maintenance, including 1 year in a leadership role. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in construction management or an engineering discipline, over 6 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in budget management, third-party vendor oversight, contract negotiation, and asset management software is highly desirable. Knowledge of building management systems, HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, generators, and fuel storage systems will be advantageous.
This position requires flexibility to work all shifts, extended hours, and weekends as needed, with the ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted.
