Facilities Operations Lead

As the Facilities Operations Lead at xAI's Memphis data center, you will oversee the maintenance and performance of critical infrastructure, including power, cooling, and environmental systems. This role involves leading a team of Facilities Operations Technicians to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our data center operations. xAI is a mission-driven organization focused on creating AI systems that accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge.

Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring a team of technicians, overseeing maintenance and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure such as HVAC and power distribution systems, and developing preventive maintenance schedules. You will also be responsible for creating and enforcing standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and collaborating with engineering and procurement teams to streamline equipment processes.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field, with at least 8 years of experience managing critical facilities systems. In-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in data centers is essential, along with proficiency in building management systems and environmental monitoring tools. Leadership experience in critical facilities or technical operations environments is also required.
