Fiber Foreman

As a Fiber Foreman at xAI's Memphis data center, you will lead the installation and maintenance of critical fiber optic systems. Working closely with dedicated teams, you will ensure the seamless operation of our network infrastructure, supporting xAI's mission to advance human scientific discovery through AI.

Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing data center installation projects, assigning daily tasks based on fiber span sheets, and providing on-the-job training to team members. You will ensure a safe and productive work environment, troubleshoot and repair fiber optic systems, and maintain accurate system records and designs.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience managing teams, preferably data center cabling technicians, and over 3 years of direct data center experience installing and routing optical fiber in large-scale Tier 3 or 4 facilities. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Preferred qualifications include certification in fiber optics or cable installation, extensive experience in fiber splicing, and technical knowledge of communication networks. Proficiency with tools such as light meters, OTDRs, and fiber certifiers is also desirable.

This in-person role is based in Memphis, Tennessee, with approximately 20% travel required. xAI offers a collaborative work environment focused on engineering excellence and continuous learning.
