Field Risk & Internal Control Officer (North East)

Moniepoint is seeking a Field Risk & Internal Control Officer to join our team in Gombe, Nigeria. This role is integral to our mission of providing seamless financial services across Africa, ensuring that our field operations adhere to internal control standards and mitigate risks effectively.

The successful candidate will lead investigations into suspected misconduct among Business Relationship Managers (BRMs), including issues such as double-dealing, agent impersonation, and unauthorized onboarding. Responsibilities include conducting unannounced field inspections, interviewing stakeholders to gather intelligence, and documenting findings in a structured format. Additionally, the role involves analyzing BRM activity reports to detect irregularities and collaborating with process owners to enhance internal controls.

Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Internal Control, Business Administration, Finance, Criminology, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years' experience in internal control, field audit, risk monitoring, or investigative roles within financial services, fintech, or agent networks. Key skills include a strong investigative mindset, high integrity, proficiency in Excel or analytics tools, and excellent report writing and communication abilities. Proficiency in Hausa, Igbo, or Yoruba is preferred.
