Head, Data Governance
The Head of Data Governance at Moniepoint is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the quality, security, and accessibility of data across the organization. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Data, this position involves developing and implementing an enterprise-wide data governance framework to manage and protect the data of over 13 million users. The role requires collaboration with various departments to establish a unified approach to data accountability.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing a long-term data governance strategy aligned with Moniepoint's mission, authoring and maintaining global data policies, and defining data ownership structures across the company. The role also involves directing the strategic priorities of Business Unit Data Stewards, creating a Data Governance Academy for training, and setting functional goals for data quality within each business unit. Additionally, the Head of Data Governance will select and manage governance platforms, configure tools for data lineage transparency, and partner with Data Engineering to automate quality checks and PII masking within the CI/CD pipeline.
The ideal candidate will have over nine years of leadership experience in Data Governance, Data Engineering, or Data Strategy within a high-growth environment. Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python is essential, along with deep knowledge of modern data architectures and regulatory frameworks such as NDPR and GDPR. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field is required.
