Finance & Strategy Manager
Block is seeking a Finance & Strategy Manager to join its Business Strategic Finance team. This role involves collaborating with various departments, including Product, Financial Operations, Data Science, Risk, and Legal, to influence strategic decisions and business planning processes. The position reports to a Finance & Strategy Lead within the team.
Key responsibilities include acting as the primary strategic finance partner for the assigned business area, leading strategic planning by analyzing internal data and market trends, and directly influencing product strategy to drive long-term growth. The role also involves modeling unit economics, conducting scenario analyses, and distilling complex findings into concise narratives for executive-level decisions. Additionally, the Finance & Strategy Manager will drive cross-functional projects and mentor teammates to evolve best practices across Block.
Candidates should have over five years of experience in investment banking, private equity, strategic or corporate finance, or management consulting, preferably with a focus on technology or financial services. A demonstrated intellectual curiosity, proven ability to influence senior stakeholders through data-driven recommendations, and proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and SQL are essential. Experience in leading cross-functional projects in fast-paced environments and a passion for Block's mission of economic empowerment are also important.
