Frontend Senior Software Engineer I
As a Senior Software Engineer I on the Frontend Squad at Axon, you will collaborate with other engineers to shape and drive technical solutions and architecture for scalable, high-performance frontend applications. You will work closely with engineers in your team and across the organization to review designs and steer them toward more reliable and sustainable outcomes, making you a force multiplier. In this role, you will build and own the technical roadmap for mission-critical web and desktop applications. You will develop robust, reusable, and maintainable code using React, TypeScript, and modern frameworks. Your responsibilities include contributing to cross-platform solutions, including Electron-based desktop applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and design solutions for the team's biggest technical challenges. You will lead engineering architecture and design reviews, set a high technical bar for the team through code reviews and design feedback, and mentor and grow engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture. Additionally, you will partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to create integrated solutions that delight customers, improve engineering processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and long-term architectural thinking, and build applications that adhere to high standards of availability and latency in this mission-critical space.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and 7+ years of professional software development experience. Proven experience developing large-scale, consumer-facing web applications is essential, along with expertise in TypeScript and React. Experience with Electron for cross-platform desktop applications, working with cloud-based APIs and infrastructure, and strong experience with build and bundling tools like Webpack, Vite, or Rollup are also required. Proficiency in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing approaches, deep familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows (GitHub/GitLab), and experience optimizing web application performance (code splitting, lazy loading, reducing Time to Interactive) are important qualifications.

The starting base pay for this role is between USD 141,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 225,600 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
