Hardware Validation and Debug Engineer - DDR
Graphcore is seeking a Hardware Validation and Debug Engineer specializing in DDR technologies to join our team in Bristol, UK. As a leader in Artificial Intelligence computing systems, Graphcore designs advanced semiconductors and data center hardware that drive AI innovation. This role is integral to ensuring the reliability and performance of our cutting-edge AI hardware platforms.
In this position, you will perform validation and debugging for new hardware platforms, focusing on high-speed memory interfaces such as LPDDR5-9600. Your responsibilities will include debugging PCB, power, signal integrity, and interface issues, as well as supporting memory initialization, training, timing optimization, margin analysis, and stability validation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including PCB design engineers, power engineers, signal integrity engineers, and embedded software teams, will be essential.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hardware debugging skills, experience with LPDDR validation and tuning, and proficiency in signal integrity analysis. Expertise in DDR training and margin analysis, protocol-level debugging, and low-level system integration is required. Candidates should be capable of independently performing board bring-up and subsystem debug, driving issue resolution across teams, and utilizing advanced lab instrumentation such as high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, BERT systems, and VNA/TDR equipment. Hands-on experience with LPDDR5 memory subsystems and compliance testing is essential.
