Validation and Debug Engineer - Power Electronics
Graphcore is seeking a Validation and Debug Engineer specializing in Power Electronics to join our team in Bristol, UK. As a leader in Artificial Intelligence computing systems, Graphcore designs advanced semiconductors and data center hardware to drive AI innovation. This role involves collaborating with Architecture, Silicon Engineering, Hardware Engineering, and Firmware teams to validate and debug cutting-edge system platforms.
The primary responsibilities include performing validation for new hardware platforms, debugging PCB, power, signal integrity, and interface issues, and supporting the validation of high-current multi-phase SMPS power systems. The engineer will also be responsible for debugging complex power delivery networks supporting high-speed ASICs, FPGAs, MCUs, and accelerator devices, as well as validating voltage rails, sequencing requirements, ripple, noise, efficiency, and thermal performance of multi-phase regulators. Additionally, the role involves identifying root causes and driving corrective actions across hardware and firmware domains, and creating bring-up documentation, test procedures, and debug reports.
The ideal candidate should possess strong skills in hardware validation and debug, multi-phase SMPS validation, power integrity analysis, signal integrity analysis, root-cause analysis, embedded systems, and cross-functional collaboration. Proficiency in using advanced lab instrumentation, including high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, PCIe protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, electronic loads, and power analyzers, is essential. Hands-on experience with multi-phase SMPS and PDN validation is also required.
Graphcore offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including flexible working arrangements, a generous annual leave policy, private medical insurance, a health cash plan, a dental plan, pension matching up to 5%, life assurance, and income protection.
