In-House Employment Attorney
The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to oversee all employment-related legal matters within the firm. This role involves representing the firm in current and future employment litigation cases and providing counsel to the HR team and business leaders on various employment and labor law issues. The Employment Attorney will report directly to the President of the firm.
Key responsibilities include developing and managing litigation strategies from inception to conclusion, overseeing outside counsel, and representing the firm before federal, state, and local regulatory authorities. The attorney will also advise on labor and employment matters such as wage and hour laws, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, employee relations, and policy-related issues. Additionally, the role involves providing training on key employment law topics and implementing compliance procedures and best practices.
Candidates must possess a JD degree from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of the California State Bar. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of substantive labor and employment experience, including litigation, is required, preferably as an in-house employment law attorney or employment defense attorney. Strong legal writing and research skills, along with expertise in labor and employment law, are essential. Knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure and the California Rules of Court is also necessary; federal law experience is a plus.
