As an Infrastructure Architect at Axon, you will lead the technical direction and architectural integrity of the company's core infrastructure platforms. This role involves managing virtualization environments, storage platforms, cloud infrastructures (Azure and AWS), database services, and foundational platform services that support both corporate IT and product-facing teams. You will serve as the senior technical authority, making design decisions, setting standards, and guiding execution, while remaining hands-on in critical areas.

Key responsibilities include owning the architecture and technical direction for Axon's infrastructure platforms, leading and managing a team of infrastructure engineers, designing and approving infrastructure solutions that balance scalability, security, reliability, and cost, and partnering closely with Network, Platform, Security, and Product teams to deliver well-architected, cross-functional solutions. Additionally, you will drive infrastructure modernization efforts, establish standards and best practices, and define and report on key infrastructure metrics and KPIs.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with demonstrated ownership of complex on-prem and cloud environments. Deep hands-on expertise with VMware virtualization, enterprise storage, and cloud infrastructure (Azure required; AWS preferred) is essential. Strong experience with database and platform services, including SQL-based environments, and proven experience leading and managing technical infrastructure teams are also required. Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions) is necessary, along with strong communication and collaboration skills that align with Axon's values of ownership, accountability, teamwork, and mission focus.

Axon offers a competitive salary and 401k with employer match, discretionary paid time off, paid parental leave for all, medical, dental, and vision plans, fitness programs, emotional and mental wellness support, and learning and development programs. Benefits may vary depending on the nature of your employment and the location where you work.

At Axon, life is fast-paced, challenging, and meaningful. You'll take ownership and drive real change, constantly growing as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter. Axon is committed to building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve, and we encourage candidates who are excited about our mission to apply, even if their experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification listed.
