IT Services Technician
xAI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Services Technician (Level 1) to join our dynamic IT team in New York, NY. As part of a small, highly motivated team focused on engineering excellence, this role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to xAI's mission of creating AI systems that accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge.
The IT Services Technician will provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving basic IT problems, assisting users with software installations and account setups, logging and tracking service requests, escalating unresolved issues to specialized teams, maintaining IT knowledge base articles, performing routine maintenance tasks, and supporting new hire onboarding and offboarding processes.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Entry-level candidates with 0-2 years of experience in IT or a related field are encouraged to apply. A basic understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common software applications is required. Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware and basic networking concepts, strong communication and customer service skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment are essential. CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications are a plus but not required.
