As a Lab Support Engineer at Graphcore, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our hardware labs and silicon development projects. Working within hybrid Linux and Windows environments, you will provide daily support to both internal teams and external collaborators, swiftly resolving technical issues while upholding stringent security protocols and adhering to established guidelines.

Your primary responsibilities will include logging and addressing support requests through direct interaction and a ticketing system, offering Level 1 and Level 2 support. You will manage and maintain Linux-based systems, support Windows-based systems, oversee a fleet of servers, assist hardware lab teams with daily activities, install and troubleshoot servers, perform hardware maintenance, and document solutions to maintain an up-to-date internal knowledge base.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and customer service skills, a solid understanding of troubleshooting principles, and methodical problem-solving abilities. Strong administration skills in Debian and RedHat derivatives, proficiency in Windows administration, and good networking skills—including VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, routing, and subnetting—are essential. Familiarity with desktop and server hardware, BMCs, out-of-band networks, firmware and BIOS upgrades, PDUs, rack mounts, and experience managing infrastructure-as-code using tools like Puppet or Ansible are also required.

Desirable qualifications include experience identifying network, storage, CPU, and RAM bottlenecks across complex workloads; familiarity with monitoring solutions such as Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana Mimir, or Open Telemetry; experience managing web servers, load balancers, and reverse proxies like HAProxy or Nginx; proficiency with containerization frameworks and orchestration tools such as Docker, Containerd, or Kubernetes; and Python programming skills for interacting with APIs, processing data, and developing small applications.

Joining Graphcore offers the opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team with strong technical skills and a supportive culture. We collaborate closely, regularly share knowledge, and your contributions will have a direct impact on our business. With numerous new projects on the horizon, this is an exciting time to join us if you're eager to tackle interesting challenges and see your work deliver real-world results.
