Lead Data Engineer
Cermaticom is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to oversee and mentor a team of engineers, driving the development and maintenance of data-driven solutions that enhance the company's business operations. This role involves managing team dynamics, ensuring productivity, and fostering a collaborative environment within the engineering department.
Key responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of new features, maintaining and improving existing codebases, and ensuring the availability and reliability of services. The Lead Data Engineer will collaborate closely with product managers to define feature specifications and project deadlines, while also participating in code reviews and design decisions.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of five years' experience in data engineering, data architecture, or software engineering roles. Proven leadership and mentorship abilities are essential, along with strong hands-on experience in Java and Python. Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka, as well as various storage technologies including Postgres, Redshift, Google BigQuery, Redis, and HBase, is required. Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and libraries like pandas and TensorFlow is also beneficial. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is necessary.
