Senior Data Engineer (Java expertise required)

Cermati is a financial technology startup based in Indonesia, dedicated to simplifying the process of finding and applying for financial products online. The company is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with Java expertise to lead the technical roadmap for its data platform team, which comprises 5-10 talented but potentially inexperienced members.

In this role, the Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for defining the technical roadmap, mentoring junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing, designing and coding new features and bug fixes, and ensuring operational excellence by monitoring production systems.

Candidates must be based in Bangalore and possess at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Java for enterprise projects. Required skills include a strong understanding of dependency injection, unit testing frameworks, Java best practices, multi-threaded programming, and the Java memory model. Additionally, a solid working knowledge of Linux-based systems and experience with SQL and PostgreSQL databases are essential.

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Kubernetes, experience with Google Cloud Platform and its data analytics products like BigQuery, previous experience working in a data platform team, and knowledge of Apache Flink.
