Lead Product Designer
The Lead Product Designer at ROLLER will spearhead design initiatives within a complex product domain, blending hands-on design execution with strategic leadership. This role involves close collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to enhance usability and impact, driving the design vision and coaching designers while shaping product outcomes across complex initiatives.
Key responsibilities include leading the creation of frameworks, flows, and high-fidelity solutions designed to ship, be tested in the real world, and improve over time. The Lead Product Designer will also own design strategy and execution across multiple high-impact initiatives, with a bias toward shipping, learning, and iteration. Additionally, they will apply systems thinking to identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities across end-to-end experiences as the product surface area grows.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Product Designer with direct people leadership experience, having formally led designers and balanced hands-on design work with coaching and leadership responsibilities. They should operate confidently at both strategic and tactical levels, understand the full product lifecycle, and have a solid understanding of front-end constraints (HTML/CSS) to design scalable and buildable solutions. Thriving in fast-moving environments with a strong bias toward action, ownership, and learning through delivery is essential.
Compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $150,000 annually, reflecting the level of ownership and impact expected. ROLLER offers competitive benefits, including 4 ROLLER Recharge days per year, a Team Member Assistance Program, 16 weeks paid Parental Leave for primary carers, and individual learning and development budgets. The company fosters a culture that values trust, autonomy, and growth, providing genuine career growth opportunities as it continues to expand.
