Manager, Engineering
Garner Health is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Provider Directory team, which is responsible for client-facing web user experiences, backend APIs, and data pipelines. This role involves close collaboration with product, data, and design teams to develop AI-enhanced data ingestion systems and innovative product features. The position is based in our New York City office, with an expectation of in-office work three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
The Engineering Manager will provide technical oversight and drive the development of new features aligned with Garner's strategic mission. Responsibilities include building a high-performance team through mentoring, feedback, and hiring; maintaining a balance between quality and delivery speed; identifying and mitigating bottlenecks and risks; and ensuring user privacy and security through best practices.
The ideal candidate has over six years of hands-on engineering experience, with a proven track record of translating complex business requirements into scalable solutions and new product features. Additionally, they should have at least two years of experience managing engineering teams, demonstrating the ability to inspire, motivate, mentor, and retain top talent. Familiarity with web application development, API design, and cloud infrastructure like AWS is essential, along with a strong sense of ownership and proactive problem-solving skills.
The target salary range for this position is $251,000 to $275,000, with individual compensation depending on qualifications, skills, and applicable laws.
