Manager, Project Accounting
Aypa Power is seeking a Manager of Project Accounting to oversee day-to-day project accounting activities, including month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations. This role involves managing accounting for various areas such as construction costs, prepaid assets, fixed assets, construction-in-progress (CIP), accruals, and leases across the company's projects. The position is remote within the United States, with the requirement to work in the U.S. and travel to Canada as needed.
Key responsibilities include owning specific areas of the general ledger, preparing and posting journal entries, performing monthly account reconciliations, and driving the monthly close process to meet all targets and timelines. The Manager will also prepare documentation and assist in interim and year-end external audits, review owner contracts for accounting-related tasks, lead the monthly draw process for assigned projects under construction, and ensure GAAP-compliant accounting policies and processes are fully established and followed.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in renewable energy or construction accounting, and hold a CPA certification. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, highly effective communication abilities, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks are essential. Experience with foreign and multiple entities is a plus.
