Your expertise will be instrumental in refining annotation tools and selecting complex problems from advanced materials science fields to enhance model performance. The role requires gathering and providing data in various formats, including text, voice, and video, and demands adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include using proprietary software to provide input and labels on defined projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality curated data, and supporting the training of new tasks in collaboration with technical staff. You will also interact with the technical team to improve annotation tools, solve problems that drive innovation in materials science, and select problems from various subfields where you can provide detailed solutions and evaluate model responses. Regular interpretation, analysis, and execution of tasks based on given instructions are essential components of this role.
Candidates must possess a Master's or PhD in materials science, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a closely related field. Expertise in a materials-related subdomain, such as energy materials, semiconductors, nanomaterials, metals, alloys, biomaterials, polymers, elastomers, ceramics, or glasses, is required. Proficiency in both informal and professional English, strong navigation skills across various information resources, and outstanding communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational capabilities are essential. A strong passion for technological advancements and innovation is also expected.
Preferred qualifications include advanced expertise in materials science demonstrated by multiple publications or patents, previous AI tutoring experience, teaching experience, and experience in technical writing, journalism, or a professional writing setting.
Compensation for U.S.-based candidates ranges from $45 to $75 per hour, depending on factors such as experience, skills, education, geographic location, and qualifications. International candidates will receive compensation information during the recruitment process.
