Axon is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II to join our team in Scottsdale, Arizona. In this role, you will have full design ownership over next-generation life-saving technology, from conceptualization through production. Your work will be highly visible to senior executives and will play a vital role in ensuring public safety for generations to come.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer II, you will drive innovative product development from concept to manufacturing. You will lead the ideation of new product architectural concepts for subsystem and system-level designs, construct and analyze high-fidelity proof-of-concept prototypes, and perform detailed mechanical analyses to ensure proper function through FEA, tolerance analysis, testing, and other exploratory means. Collaboration with both domestic and international stakeholders will be essential, as will working autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years of product design experience in high-end consumer electronic products. Proficiency with Creo or similar 3D CAD software is required, along with knowledge in the design of plastic injection molded, stamped metal, die-cast, and machined parts. Experience designing for high levels of dust and water ingress protection, thermal management solutions for dissipating heat from electronics, and electro-mechanical integration is also essential. Strong DFM/DFA skills, effective communication, and the ability to balance and prioritize conflicting design constraints are key attributes for success in this role.
