Mechanical Engineer - Shenzhen

Formlabs is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team in Shenzhen. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and developing the hardware systems for our next-generation 3D printers, contributing to key decisions that influence product performance and reliability.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will push the boundaries of 3D printing by creating innovative solutions to complex challenges. Your responsibilities will include leading a team of mechanical, systems, and electrical engineers, prototyping new systems and mechanisms, and architecting various subsystems to enhance performance, manufacturability, and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio in electro-mechanical systems, a passion for building precision tools, and familiarity with thermal and optical systems, sensor design, controllers, structures, and algorithms. Proficiency in part design, material selection, and manufacturing techniques is essential, along with effective communication skills and experience with the full product development cycle. A minimum of 5 years of industry experience is required.
