Formlabs is seeking a Senior SLS Materials Scientist to join our Materials Engineering team in Boston, MA. This role focuses on developing cutting-edge Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) materials, contributing to our mission of enabling innovators worldwide to bring their ideas to life through advanced 3D printing technologies.

The successful candidate will lead the development of world-class SLS materials, guiding projects from initial laboratory research through validation and commercialization. Responsibilities include conducting research to enhance SLS material performance, collaborating with product, hardware, and software teams to refine materials based on customer feedback, and developing methodologies to evaluate material formulations in coordination with SLS print systems.

Applicants should have experience bringing new materials to market from ideation to production, a solid understanding of materials science and polymer product development, and hands-on experience in thermoplastic engineering. A passion for testing and troubleshooting, proficiency in designing and conducting rigorous experiments, and the ability to work autonomously are essential. A B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering field is required.
