Robotic Systems Integration Engineer (SLA & SLS)
Formlabs is seeking a Robotic Systems Integration Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team in Boston, MA. This role is integral to our mission of revolutionizing 3D printing technology, enabling professionals across various industries to bring their ideas to life. As part of a dynamic team, you'll contribute to the development and enhancement of our SLA and SLS 3D printers, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
In this position, you will be responsible for integrating firmware and hardware components into cohesive systems, guiding prototypes through the development process to achieve optimal functionality. Collaborating closely with system architects, you'll create and document system and subsystem designs, define and refine control algorithms, and establish interfaces between subsystems. Additionally, you'll manage system-level requirements, design and execute test plans to validate subsystem performance, and address any system issues to enhance overall performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in designing complex electro-mechanical systems, with a solid understanding of motion control, sensors, and control algorithms. Proficiency in managing system and subsystem requirements, along with strong hardware debugging skills, is essential. Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, LabVIEW, or MATLAB is preferred. Bonus qualifications include experience with low-level embedded firmware (preferably in C++), data analysis and reporting, and a background in consumer electronics.
