Member of Technical Staff - Voice Product

The Grok Voice Product team at xAI is dedicated to developing seamless, world-class voice experiences across all platforms and product surfaces. As a Member of Technical Staff in this team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and shipping voice features, collaborating closely with iOS, Android, and various product groups. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to xAI's mission of creating AI systems that accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge.

In this position, you will own backend engineering for scalable, low-latency voice infrastructure and model integrations. Your day-to-day work will involve collaborating directly with Grok Voice model, media, and product teams to deliver end-to-end experiences. You will drive performance, reliability, and quality of voice interactions on a global scale, moving swiftly across platforms and product groups as a generalist.

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Python or Rust, with a strong track record of writing clean, efficient, maintainable, and scalable code. A deep interest in voice and audio AI is essential, along with hands-on experience shipping features on iOS and/or Android platforms. Strong generalist engineering skills with a backend focus and the ability to work across all product groups to enhance user experience are also required.

Preferred qualifications include a background in AI-driven consumer products or media generation technologies. A proven track record of collaborating across engineering, research, and product teams to quickly ship delightful features will set candidates apart.

Compensation for this role ranges from $180,000 to $440,000 USD annually.
