Member of Technical Staff – Web Foundations
xAI is seeking a Member of Technical Staff for Web Foundations to join their engineering team in Palo Alto, CA. The company is dedicated to developing AI systems that accurately understand the universe and assist humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. In this position, you will own and drive features from inception and design to implementation and launch, serving as the web expert on your team. Responsibilities include building and maintaining high-quality, performant products and features, leveraging modern web standards, technologies, frameworks, and AI tooling. You will be responsible for full-stack features such as user dashboards, personalized experiences, content delivery, interactive tools, assessments, and real-time analytics. Additionally, you will lead architecture, scalability, and reliability decisions for high-concurrency, low-latency systems, uphold engineering excellence through testing, monitoring, deployment, and secure data handling, and drive technical and product decisions to maximize user value.
The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of web development experience and is an expert in TypeScript, Node.js, and modern web frameworks like React. Proficiency in modern CSS/SASS and experience in high-quality UI and UX design are essential. A proven track record of optimizing applications for performance, security, and offline functionality is required. Preferred qualifications include over 5 years of experience in a web frontend role working on large-scale consumer applications and experience with backend development in languages such as Rust, Go, Java, Python, or Scala.
The compensation for this role ranges from $180,000 to $440,000 USD annually.
