Mobile Android Engineer
xAI is seeking an exceptional Android engineer to join a small, high-impact team dedicated to creating the world's most valuable AI application, judged by the impact it delivers to users. The engineer will work on the most critical product or technical challenge at any given time.
Key responsibilities include developing and optimizing Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, ensuring performance, stability, and reliability. The engineer will be expected to build intuitive and delightful user experiences, architect modern large production apps, and take ownership of significant areas within the project. A strong sense of agency and the ability to wear multiple hats are essential for this role.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and reactive programming. They should have a strong product sense and a high craft bar, with experience in architecting modern large production apps while embodying technical excellence. A strong sense of ownership and agency, along with the ability to optimize for performance, stability, and reliability, are crucial. Preferred qualifications include a proven track record of shipping standout apps or features that demonstrate both technical excellence and exceptional product intuition, deep expertise in the Android ecosystem and related development tools, and experience with Rust for working with backend components.
