Motion Writing Attorney
The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is seeking a dedicated Motion Writing Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in Los Angeles. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate Attorney to gain valuable experience in both criminal and immigration law, particularly focusing on post-conviction relief cases. The successful candidate will report directly to the Supervising Attorney and collaborate closely with our Post-Conviction Relief Team of attorneys and legal assistants.
Key responsibilities include advising clients on their legal rights and drafting pertinent legal documents related to their cases. The attorney will manage post-conviction relief cases, such as motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, and early termination of probation. Additionally, the role involves attending motion hearings on behalf of clients, providing strategic advice post-hearing, handling open criminal cases—including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing—and conducting legal research to analyze probable case outcomes.
Candidates must possess experience in criminal defense or immigration law, with a preference for those who have handled criminal cases at the state and local levels. While bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred, it is not a requirement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid parking, and paid time off. The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is committed to providing an inclusive and diverse work environment, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds.
