Network Engineer

As a Network Engineer at xAI, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for managing and expanding our global network infrastructure. xAI is dedicated to creating AI systems that accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. In this role, you will help define configuration and architecture standards, contribute to the qualification of new platforms, and provision network devices in corporate offices and points of presence (POPs). Your responsibilities will also include managing corporate circuits, improving configuration standards and operational procedures, enhancing device monitoring, liaising with third parties to resolve issues, executing scheduled changes, participating in on-call rotations, upgrading existing systems, and monitoring network performance to ensure system availability and reliability.

The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of BGP configuration and management, knowledge of backbone and datacenter networks, and a working understanding of wireless technologies. Proficiency in at least one internal routing protocol, corporate networking, TCP/IP, and remote access is essential. Strong documentation and communication skills are also required.

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with multiple networking vendors such as Juniper, Cisco, Aruba, and Arista, experience with remote access, network security, and Network Access Control (NAC), as well as skills in scripting and automation of network operations activities.
