Operations Supervisor, Battery Storage
Aypa Power, a Blackstone portfolio company, is a leading developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable projects across North America. The company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Battery Storage Operations Supervisor to oversee the operations and maintenance of its cutting-edge battery storage systems in Mesa, Arizona. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and optimal performance of Aypa's energy storage assets.
The Operations Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of battery storage facilities, including monitoring system performance and coordinating maintenance activities and contractors. Responsibilities include developing and implementing site-specific operational strategies to maximize system uptime and efficiency, collaborating with various teams to optimize battery storage design and integration with renewable energy sources, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, overseeing the training and development of operations staff, and analyzing performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
Candidates should have at least 2 years of proven experience in battery storage operations, preferably in a supervisory or management role. Strong technical knowledge of battery storage systems, inverters, and associated equipment is essential. Familiarity with energy management systems (EMS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems is required. Excellent leadership and communication skills, experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards in the energy sector, and an analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions are also important qualifications.
