Platform Engineer
Interface AI is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Platform Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and building internal platforms, frameworks, and interfaces that abstract the complexity of infrastructure, enabling developers to focus on building features and shipping code confidently. This position is remote, based in Bangalore, India.
As a Platform Engineer, your key responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining self-service tooling for developers, creating easy-to-use abstractions and interfaces such as Web UIs, chatbots, and CLIs, architecting and maintaining scalable, repeatable infrastructure using tools like Terraform or Pulumi, working deeply within cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) to optimize performance, cost, and scalability, building and optimizing robust continuous integration and deployment pipelines, managing API gateways, ingress controllers, and service mesh implementations, establishing centralized monitoring, alerting, metrics, APM, and logging solutions, implementing cost management tooling, developing systems for ephemeral and on-demand environments, supporting teams with infrastructure and tooling for A/B testing and canary deployments, ensuring platform tools comply with organizational security policies, and collaborating with engineering teams to gather feedback and improve the developer experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong coding background in languages such as Go, Python, TypeScript, or similar, hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi, deep knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, ECS, or Nomad, proficiency in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, etc.), familiarity with API gateways, service mesh, and rate limiting, solid understanding of monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus and Grafana, experience managing costs in cloud environments, proven ability to build interfaces and platforms like dashboards, chatbots, or CLI tools, and strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Bonus points will be given for experience with platform product thinking that prioritizes developer empathy and user feedback, previous work in platform engineering or internal developer portals, and exposure to feature flag frameworks and progressive delivery tools.
