Principal Engineer
DriveWealth is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the design and development of our brokerage systems. As a key member of the engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in creating scalable, low-latency, and highly available trading platforms that empower our partners to offer seamless investing experiences to clients worldwide.
In this role, you will be responsible for the technical architecture and delivery of high-performance brokerage systems using Java and Golang. Your day-to-day activities will include designing and maintaining REST APIs and microservices, collaborating with Broker Dealer Operations teams to support multiple asset classes such as equities, options, and mutual funds, and developing automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, ensuring best practices and high-quality code standards are upheld.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with at least 10 years of experience in software engineering, particularly with expertise in Java. A strong understanding of Test-Driven Development, CI/CD processes, and automated testing frameworks is essential. Proficiency in developing REST APIs, implementing event-driven architectures with Kafka and Kubernetes, and a background in financial technology or capital markets are also required. Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases, Unix/Linux operating systems, and tools such as Jira, Git, and Jenkins will be advantageous.
DriveWealth offers a competitive compensation package, with the salary range for this position in New York, NY (Hybrid) being $250,000 to $290,000 USD. Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional development.
