Principal Machine Learning Engineer
As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Axon, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing AI solutions for counter-unmanned aerial systems (UAS) devices. Collaborating closely with scientists and software engineers, you will contribute to the creation of secure, reliable AI features that enhance public safety and defense capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies within a multidisciplinary team, addressing challenges in multi-modal sensor fusion and real-time distributed edge computing.
Your primary responsibilities will include architecting and developing privacy-preserving, on-device solutions to facilitate continuous improvement of existing AI models. You will collaborate with scientists to design and implement state-of-the-art edge distributed training techniques, as well as develop on-device monitoring solutions for ongoing model enhancement. Additionally, you will implement innovative model compression methods to enable efficient AI deployment at the edge, ensuring optimal performance in resource-constrained environments.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, along with over 13 years of software engineering experience. A proven track record in architecting and maintaining large-scale distributed platforms is essential. Proficiency in Python and C++, familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, and advanced knowledge of on-chip development are required. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to engage effectively with scientists, engineers, and product managers are also crucial.
