As a Principal Product Engineer at Graphcore, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the manufacturing processes of our AI compute products, ensuring high yield, quality, and cost-effectiveness throughout their lifecycle. This position involves close collaboration with our Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) partners, as well as our internal test engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to successfully release new products and sustain high-volume production.

Your primary responsibilities will include driving yield, quality, and cost optimization across various stages of product manufacturing, from chip production to system-level assembly. You will work closely with test engineering to define requirements for coverage, reporting, and data logging formats for both Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and system-level electrical tests. Additionally, you will oversee analytics for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing processes, including Solder Paste Inspection (SPI), Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), Automated X-ray Inspection (AXI), and In-Circuit Testing (ICT), as well as board and system-level testing.

To excel in this role, you should have over 10 years of experience in semiconductor product engineering, test engineering, or manufacturing engineering, with a solid background in high-volume semiconductor or electronics manufacturing. Proficiency in statistical analysis methods such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), regression analysis, and hypothesis testing is essential. Additionally, experience with data visualization tools and manufacturing systems or databases (MES) is required. A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field is also necessary.
