Axon is seeking a seasoned Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution of innovative hardware products. This role involves defining the product vision, guiding cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful development, launch, and scaling of complex hardware solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical fluency and customer empathy, with a proven track record of delivering hardware products that integrate seamlessly into broader ecosystems.

Key responsibilities include defining and evolving the product vision, strategy, and roadmap from concept through launch, adoption, and iteration. The role requires gathering insights from customers, partners, and industry trends to inform product decisions and drive differentiation. Collaboration with engineering, design, manufacturing, supply chain, and operations teams is essential to deliver robust, scalable hardware solutions. Ensuring products meet high standards of performance, reliability, and usability, including firmware, connectivity, and ecosystem integration, is also a critical aspect of the role.

Candidates should have over 10 years of product management experience, focusing on complex hardware or hardware/software products. A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) is required. Proven success in building, launching, and scaling hardware solutions in enterprise or consumer markets is essential. The role demands comfort in engaging with engineers on architecture, manufacturing trade-offs, and system-level decisions, as well as exceptional empathy to translate customer pain points into product strategy. Strong skills in aligning stakeholders across levels, from executives to technical teams, and a demonstrated ability to drive adoption strategies and product growth are also necessary.

Axon offers a competitive salary and 401(k) with employer match, discretionary paid time off, paid parental leave for all, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans. Additional benefits include fitness programs, emotional and mental wellness support, learning and development programs, and in-office snacks. The base pay range for this role is between $162,000 and $259,200 USD, with actual base pay dependent on various factors such as level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and geographic market.

Axon fosters a fast-paced, challenging, and meaningful work environment where employees take ownership and drive real change. The company emphasizes collaboration, seeking diverse perspectives from customers, communities, and each other. Axon is committed to building diverse teams that reflect the communities they serve and encourages candidates who are excited about their mission to apply, even if their experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification listed.
