Product Counsel, Advertising
As Product Counsel for the Ads and Brands team at Roblox, you will serve as a key legal advisor, supporting product, engineering, and other teams in developing the future of the Roblox platform. This role involves providing strategic legal guidance to internal teams, particularly focusing on advertising products and technologies. You will report to the Director, Product Counsel for Creator, Economy, Ads & Brands.
Your primary responsibilities will include acting as a trusted advisor throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure successful product launches. You will assist with legal initiatives related to Roblox’s advertising products, models, and technologies, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international laws and regulations concerning advertising, privacy, copyright, online safety, and consumer protection. Additionally, you will coordinate advice with cross-functional stakeholders, develop internal playbooks and training materials, and stay informed about the latest developments in the legal landscape to build deep expertise in Roblox’s products.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of relevant legal experience, preferably a combination of law firm and in-house experience at a consumer-facing technology company. Previous experience counseling advertising product teams and/or research teams building foundation models is highly desirable. Strong business-oriented judgment, the ability to analyze problems and propose practical solutions, and a license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction are required. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to manage a diverse and complex workload while proactively identifying issues and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to overcome complex challenges.
The annual salary range for this position is $211,760 to $252,210 USD. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and benefits as described on the company's careers page. Roles based at the San Mateo, CA headquarters are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.
