KoBold Metals is seeking a Product Manager to lead the development of advanced tools that enhance mineral exploration efforts. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering, geology, and data science teams to integrate diverse data sources, enabling scientists to conduct cutting-edge analyses. This role is pivotal in directing exploration activities such as surveys, sample collection, and drilling, contributing to a sustainable supply of critical metals like nickel, lithium, and copper.

Key responsibilities include determining product development priorities by building consensus among stakeholders, collaborating with geologists and data scientists to understand geological modeling, and participating in field programs to assess and improve data collection methods. The Product Manager will identify process gaps, set technology goals, evaluate software impact through continuous team communication, and create prototypes to convey product visions. Additionally, they will articulate functional hypotheses and prioritize work to test these hypotheses, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across the company.

Candidates should possess a strong technical background, evidenced by a degree in a scientific discipline or substantial experience in a scientific field, and have at least five years of professional experience with technical products designed for scientists or data scientists. An eagerness to learn about mineral exploration, particularly geology, is essential, as is the willingness to work directly with geologists in the field. The role requires excellent communication skills to explain technical problems and collaborate on solutions with non-product managers, along with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing company environment.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $155,000 to $225,000, along with equity and benefits, including 401(k) matching. KoBold Metals is a remote-first workplace, open to candidates located anywhere in the United States, with all applicants required to be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

KoBold Metals fosters a culture of innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together experts from technology and geology to revolutionize mineral exploration. Joining the team provides opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic environment, contributing to the discovery of world-class mineral deposits and supporting the global transition to renewable energy.
