Product Security Architect
Motive is seeking a Product Security Architect to join its Security Engineering team. In this role, you will serve as the primary security partner for product and engineering teams, focusing on design reviews, threat modeling, and developing scalable "secure-by-default" components such as libraries, services, and frameworks. This position offers the opportunity to influence product architecture and drive security enablement programs across the organization.
Key responsibilities include leading security design reviews and threat modeling for critical new products and features, partnering directly with Product and Engineering teams to define security requirements and architecture, and designing secure-by-default libraries and frameworks to eliminate entire classes of vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will develop and lead a Security Champions program to embed security expertise within product engineering teams and provide expert guidance on architecture patterns to ensure security is integrated from the outset.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Product Security principles, architecture, and design patterns, with proven experience leading security design reviews and threat modeling for large-scale distributed systems. Experience in designing and developing secure-by-default libraries or security services for internal use is essential. Deep hands-on experience with cloud security fundamentals, including identity, networks, encryption, isolation, and boundary design, is required. Proficiency in designing, writing, and maintaining automations using Python or Go is a plus, though strong architectural skills are paramount. Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, along with a track record of influencing engineering and product decisions, are highly valued. Experience establishing or running a Security Champions program or similar security enablement initiatives is a strong plus.
Motive offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary of $225,000 per year. Additional benefits include medical coverage, with the company covering 90% of PPO and HMO medical premiums for employees and 75% for dependents, and 100% of the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) medical premiums for employees and 75% for dependents.
