Security Engineer - Detection & Response
As a Security Engineer specializing in Detection and Response at xAI, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our AI-driven infrastructure. xAI is dedicated to creating AI systems that accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. In this role, you will lead day-to-day security threat management, identifying and managing potential incidents, and collaborating with partner teams on known or suspected security threats. Your responsibilities will include supporting threat intelligence, conducting threat hunting, overseeing intrusion detection, and executing incident response efforts that adhere to and advance best practices. Additionally, you will drive continual improvement in processes, procedures, and automations to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the team.
The ideal candidate will have over two years of relevant information security experience and be a self-starter capable of executing tasks with minimal supervision. Strong Python scripting skills for implementing security automation are essential, along with knowledge of networking and operating systems such as macOS, Windows, or Linux. Familiarity with cloud security fundamentals and practices, experience managing or deploying security technology, and proficiency in building queries and dashboards for security monitoring are also required. A desire to research and learn about current threats and techniques, as well as experience with malware analysis, forensics, or penetration testing, will be advantageous.
The compensation for this position ranges from $180,000 to $440,000 USD annually.
