Senior Application Security Engineer II
As a Senior Application Security Engineer II at Axon, you will play a pivotal role in integrating security measures throughout the software development lifecycle. This position is designed to empower development teams by providing the necessary tools, knowledge, and processes to build secure applications. Collaborating closely with developers, you will act as a security partner to enhance the company's security posture while maintaining agility and innovation.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining security automation tools to embed security checks into CI/CD pipelines seamlessly. You will work alongside engineering teams to design secure-by-default architectures and workflows. Additionally, you will act as a trusted advisor, offering actionable guidance to address security issues and delivering training on secure coding practices to proactively prevent vulnerabilities.
The ideal candidate will have proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or C#, and possess strong experience with modern development workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control. A deep understanding of vulnerabilities and secure coding practices is essential, along with hands-on experience with security tools like Snyk or Semgrep. Effective communication skills are crucial for simplifying and conveying technical security concepts to diverse audiences. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is also desired.
