Senior Applied AI Engineer - Manufacturing/Supply Chain
As a Senior Applied AI Engineer at Celonis, you will collaborate directly with strategic customers to understand their objectives and challenges, identifying high-impact opportunities for AI to deliver measurable business value. You will develop solutions using Celonis' Process Intelligence platform, integrating with leading AI and machine learning technologies from partners such as Microsoft, OpenAI, and Databricks. This role focuses on problem framing, solution design, and business impact, emphasizing customer engagement and practical AI applications over pure software engineering.
Key responsibilities include identifying high-impact AI opportunities by working closely with enterprise customers to understand their strategic priorities and operational challenges. You will design scalable AI-powered solutions that combine the Celonis Process Intelligence platform with modern AI technologies, rapidly build prototypes and proof-of-value solutions to demonstrate tangible outcomes, and facilitate workshops, hackathons, and innovation sessions to explore new ways AI can transform customer operations. Additionally, you will partner with customer teams to ensure successful implementation, adoption, and realization of measurable value from AI deployments, and develop deep expertise in specific industries or business domains, such as supply chain or finance, to help scale that knowledge across the organization.
The ideal candidate has over five years of experience in solutions consulting, data or AI consulting, technical pre-sales, sales engineering, value engineering, or customer-facing solution architecture or AI roles. You should enjoy translating business challenges into technical solutions and be able to communicate complex technical concepts to business and executive stakeholders. A good understanding of business processes across sectors, such as supply chain or finance, with the ability to translate high-level business needs into specific AI use cases is essential. Strong presentation skills to both internal and external stakeholders, including executives, are required, as well as experience prototyping solutions with Python and modern AI frameworks. Familiarity with generative AI architectures such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, or agent-based systems is also important. A bachelor's degree is required, with a master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related fields, or equivalent work experience, being a plus.
Celonis offers a range of benefits, including generous paid time off, hybrid working options, company equity (RSUs), comprehensive benefits, extensive parental leave, dedicated volunteer days, and access to resources such as gym subsidies, counseling, and well-being programs. The company provides clear career paths, internal mobility, a dedicated learning program, and mentorship opportunities, fostering an environment where employees can accelerate their growth and make a meaningful impact.
