Senior Backend Software Engineer II

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer II at Axon, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture of our cloud services, ensuring high availability and consistent performance. Collaborating closely with product managers and designers, you will develop innovative solutions that address critical safety and justice issues, contributing to our mission to Protect Life.

Your primary responsibilities will include leading engineering architecture design reviews, setting high technical standards through code and architecture evaluations, and mentoring fellow engineers. You will work across teams to create integrated solutions that delight our customers, improve engineering processes, and build services that meet our stringent availability and latency requirements.

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and at least 6 years of professional software development experience. Proficiency in designing and delivering scalable cloud-based systems, experience with backend services in languages such as Go, Java, Scala, or C#, and familiarity with SQL or NoSQL data stores are essential. Additionally, experience with public cloud services like Azure or AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code tools is required.
