Senior Bring-Up and Characterisation Engineer
Graphcore is seeking a Senior Bring-Up and Characterisation Engineer to join our team in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will collaborate with Architecture, Silicon Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to develop and execute bring-up and characterisation plans for our advanced silicon devices and system platforms. This position is integral to ensuring our products operate correctly under all conditions in their final form.
Your primary responsibilities will include understanding the architecture and design of silicon devices and systems, documenting characterisation requirements, and creating product-specific characterisation plans. You will liaise with engineering teams to identify available tests for characterisation purposes and drive necessary changes. Additionally, you will develop and maintain automated systems for running characterisation tests, capture results in a central database, perform data analysis, and execute manual tests when automation is not appropriate. Regular reporting on progress and issues, as well as producing comprehensive characterisation reports, will be essential aspects of your day-to-day work.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering technical output, with solid experience in silicon digital device design characterisation. A strong understanding of silicon process technology and its impact on device performance at both transistor and system levels is required. Knowledge of high-performance processor and system-on-chip systems, experience with high-speed digital interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, or DDR, and proficiency in measurement automation and data analysis are essential. The ability to code or script automation and data analysis using languages like Python or JMP, and the capability to work independently without daily oversight, are also necessary.
