Senior Computer Vision and Machine Learning Research Scientist
Axon is seeking a Senior Computer Vision and Machine Learning Research Scientist to join their AI team in Seattle, Washington. This role focuses on developing AI solutions that enhance both enterprise and public safety domains, aligning with Axon's mission to accelerate justice, protect truth, and save lives. The position involves advancing CVML and multimodal technologies to create responsible AI capabilities for Axon products.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with scientists, engineers, and product managers to build proof-of-concepts, leading research efforts in advanced computer vision and machine learning techniques, designing efficient and scalable models for visual data analysis, developing performance metrics for CVML models, optimizing algorithms for resource-constrained devices, staying updated with the latest research, contributing to academic publications, and mentoring junior scientists.
Candidates should possess a PhD in Computer Science or a related field with a focus on computer vision, machine learning, or artificial intelligence, along with over three years of relevant experience. A proven research track record in machine learning or computer vision, experience in the ML development lifecycle, strong fundamentals in computer vision, proficiency in Python and frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities are essential. Experience with computer vision algorithms for resource-constrained devices is preferred but optional.
Axon offers a competitive salary ranging from $159,750 to $234,300, depending on various factors.
