Senior Cost Manager
As a Senior Cost Manager at AirTrunk, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing construction cost management across multiple sites, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and within budget. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Cost and collaborating closely with the Development team, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the Construction Cost Management program, driving process improvements and standardization across various global geographies.
Your primary responsibilities will include pre-contract cost estimation and benchmarking, conducting value engineering and cost/function optimization workshops from design inception through project closeout, and challenging proposed design solutions to drive best value. You will assist the Construction and Procurement departments in issuing, reviewing, and analyzing contractor bid returns, actively participating in post-bid interviews to identify the most complete bids offering the best value. Additionally, you will produce tender reports to support bid reviews and recommendations, provide ongoing cost management and review support during the construction period, track monthly construction accruals across all regional projects, and manage QS vendor procurement and engagement.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or construction management, with over 10 years of proven experience in delivering high-value projects across different jurisdictions. Fluency in both Japanese and English is essential. Strong cost management capabilities, both from a high-level perspective and through deep-dive analytical skills, are required. The role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, flexibility to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and leadership competence to lead multi-disciplinary teams across multiple geographies.
