Senior Data Engineer
Beacon Software is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Toronto. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that integrate data from our portfolio companies into a centralized Beacon Data Warehouse. Your work will enable our teams to gain real-time insights, perform analyses, and drive product decisions that enhance the operations of our portfolio companies. You will transform fragmented operational data into a clean, unified, analytics-ready foundation that supports real-time decision-making and AI automation across the portfolio.
Key responsibilities include implementing robust ETL pipelines, standardizing schemas across diverse vertical SaaS products, ensuring data reliability and quality, and creating unified data models for cross-portfolio insights. You will also establish data validation, testing, and monitoring frameworks, develop documentation and data lineage standards, and implement scalable access controls and security practices. As a systems thinker, you will design for long-term leverage and make principled architectural decisions to build a shared technical foundation.
The ideal candidate will have over four years of experience building production-grade data pipelines, strong proficiency with modern data stacks and SQL, and experience integrating APIs and ingesting data from SaaS platforms. Preferred qualifications include experience in multi-entity or multi-tenant data environments, a background at high-growth startups or as a founder, familiarity with event-driven architectures and streaming systems, and experience supporting ML or AI systems with production data.
