Senior Data Integration Engineer I
As a Senior Data Integration Engineer I at Talkdesk, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining integration infrastructure that delivers critical data and insights across the organization. This position is situated within the Integration team, which serves as the nexus between business processes and platform development. You will be responsible for developing robust and scalable integration pipelines to support data integration using technologies such as Kafka, Fivetran, Snowflake, Airflow, Starburst, and dbt.
Your daily responsibilities will include leading the implementation and maintenance of data platform solutions, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Additionally, you will evaluate and implement standard practices for data ingestion, ETL processes, and data quality frameworks, while optimizing and tuning data processing workflows and SQL queries for improved performance and efficiency.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in data engineering, designing and implementing data pipelines, and building data infrastructure. Proficiency in Snowflake, Airflow, Starburst, and dbt, including data modeling, ETL, and data quality assurance, is essential. Strong programming skills in Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation and automation are required, along with a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data integration techniques. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and cloud-based data technologies is also necessary.
While not mandatory, experience with streaming data processing frameworks like Apache Kafka or Apache Flink, familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and knowledge of distributed computing frameworks like Spark or Hadoop are advantageous. Experience with data governance, data security, and compliance practices, as well as an understanding of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines, are also beneficial.
