Senior Design Manager
As a Senior Design Manager at AirTrunk, you will lead the design initiatives for hyperscale data centers, collaborating with top cloud and enterprise clients. Reporting to the Director of Design in Tokyo, you will play a pivotal role in developing some of the largest data center campuses in Japan and beyond, driving engineering solutions that incorporate cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices.
Your primary responsibilities will include managing multi-disciplinary design teams from project inception to delivery, attending design and construction meetings, and serving as the main technical liaison for clients. You will develop high-level master planning and engineering solutions during feasibility stages, produce Basis-of-Design documents, and oversee the technical aspects of directly procured equipment, ensuring seamless integration with the overall design.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in MEP design, with at least 5 years in data center or mission-critical environments. A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is required, along with fluency in English and Japanese. Experience with the Japanese construction industry and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams are essential. Strong communication skills and a flexible, forward-thinking approach are also key attributes for success in this role.
