Senior Director, Operations Engineering

The Senior Director of Operations Engineering at Aypa Power is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing engineering operations across utility-scale renewable energy projects, including battery energy storage systems (BESS) and solar. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Asset Management, this position ensures technical excellence, operational efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals.

Key responsibilities include leading the Operations Engineering team throughout the lifecycle of BESS and solar assets, from commissioning to decommissioning. The role involves developing and implementing operational strategies to maximize energy production, asset availability, and safety. Additionally, the Senior Director will collaborate with senior leadership on long-term operational planning, budgeting, and technology roadmap development.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in operations engineering of utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; a Master's degree is a plus. Strong leadership and team management skills are essential, along with hands-on experience with SCADA, EMS, substation/transmission systems, and regulatory compliance. Experience transitioning projects from EPC to operations and the ability to lead root cause analysis and implement continuous improvement initiatives are also required.
