Senior Electrical Engineer
As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Axon, you will lead the design, development, and testing of advanced electronics critical to cutting-edge video products and related devices. Your extensive technical expertise, strong understanding of engineering processes, and passion for technology will drive the creation of innovative solutions that exceed the rigorous demands of our customers. You will collaborate globally with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver world-class products and mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth across the team.
In this role, you will research, propose, and develop innovative circuit designs for Axon’s future-generation video products, wired and wireless devices, and low-power accessories. You will create embedded mixed-signal circuit schematics, integrating components like application processors, image sensors, high-speed memory, high-speed digital communication buses, RF transceivers, power supplies, and battery charging systems. Additionally, you will partner with PCB design engineers to define, review, and optimize printed circuit board layouts and bring up, characterize, optimize, and debug systems and circuits using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and power supplies.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline and at least 7 years of experience in embedded electronics design, focusing on high-speed, high-density, portable, battery-powered devices or low-power vehicular embedded circuits. You should demonstrate ownership of embedded electronics design across multiple subsystems, including microcontrollers, high-speed application processors, image sensors, high-speed memory subsystems, power delivery networks, lithium batteries and charging circuitry, audio subsystems, RF integration, high- and low-speed wired interfaces, sensor integration, and rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCB design. Proficiency in high-speed, high-density hardware design, system architecture development, component selection, schematic design, PCB layout management, design verification testing, and debugging is essential.
Axon offers a competitive salary and 401k with employer match, discretionary paid time off, paid parental leave for all, medical, dental, and vision plans, fitness programs, emotional and mental wellness support, learning and development programs, and office snacks. The company fosters a fast-paced, challenging, and meaningful work environment where employees take ownership and drive real change, constantly growing as they work hard for a mission that matters at a company where they matter.
